Chapter 11

As much as Adam wanted nothing more than to take Jason into his arms once more he was afraid once he started he wouldn’t be able to stop. If he wasn’t concerned about the were-creatures that would be waking up soon he would grab his mate and find the nearest empty room, but they needed to come up with game plan and time was running out.

Still the blush on Jason’s face from watching Alek and Seth kissing was so adorable he couldn’t have stopped himself, even if he’d wanted to, which he definitely didn’t, from leaning over to capture those perfect lips with his own.

He almost lost his resolve when his mate moaned in pleasure. Adam pulled away before he got lost in his mate’s kiss. “As much as I hate to stop we need to discuss a plan for the were-creatures before they start waking up.”

The sadness that crept into Jason’s cinnamon-colored eyes had Adam kicking himself for causing that look. Jason glanced over at the Alpha and his mate. Adam was surprised to see a mischievous twinkle in Jason’s eyes when he looked back at him. With a slight jerk of his head at the Alpha he said, “And who’s going to interrupt them?”

Adam smiled at his mate before he said, “That would be me.” He started clapping really loud getting several others in the hallway to join in, but it wasn’t until he started whistling that the Alpha broke away from his mate to growl at Adam.

Adam just laughed. “Sucks to be interrupted, doesn’t it?”

Alek glared at him. “I think it’s time for me to teach you a lesson about respecting your Alpha.”

If it had been anyone but his friend saying that, Adam might have been afraid but he knew Alek was just joking around. “Sorry, no time, we have were-creatures to take care of.”

“There’s always time for a lesson, especially since it will only take a minute,” Alek replied while cracking his knuckles.

Adam knew Alek was just joking but apparently Jason didn’t and stepped forward to protect Adam. “I won’t let you hurt him,” Jason told Alek.

A big smile spread across the Alpha’s face. “You have a very brave mate Adam.”

Yeah, he really did. Adam knew he wore an even bigger smile than Alek as he said, “I know.”

Seth having had enough of their stupid jokes said, “Jason as stupid as they are they were just joking around. Alek would never hurt Adam, they’ve been friends longer than you and I have been alive.”

Jason looked over his shoulder at Adam. “Is that true?”

“Yes sweetheart, Alek wouldn’t hurt me. He just likes to joke around.” For a minute Adam was afraid Jason wasn’t going to take their explanation, but then he winked at Adam before turning back to face Alek.

“Well I don’t think it’s very funny.” He pointed his finger at Alek’s chest, but didn’t go so far as to actually touch him. “You should be ashamed for making others think you would actually hurt someone.”
